Every so often I get so wrapped up in school or work that I forget that I actually enjoy reading for pleasure. Then I rediscover that love and just start devouring books left and right. I'm currently in the devouring phase. In the past week, I've read:
-- Wolfman by Art Bourgeau (It's about a schizophrenic serial killer who thinks he's a werewolf sent by a dark angel to purify mankind before the Apocalypse... creepy, creepy as all get out but aamazing)
-- The Night the White Deer Died by Gary Paulsen
-- Speak American: A Survival Guide to the Language and Culture of the U.S.A. by Dileri Borunda Johnston
-- More Twisted: Collected Stories, Vol. II by Jeffery Deaver. So far I've read "Chapter and Verse," "The Commuter," "The Westphalian Ring," "Surveillance," "Born Bad," and "Interrogation." (I must say, I wish my stories were as good as his!)
-- Spanish for Dummies by Susana Wald, just to brush up a bit on my Spanish skillz :-P
-- And I just started The Haymeadow, also by Gary Paulsen (I've been hooked on his books ever since we read Woodsong in 6th grade)
And as whenever happens when I spend a lot of time reading, I get the incredible urge to write stories of my own. I already have three ideas that I sketched out during a very boring microbiology video. Yesterday I started working on one of them. Hopefully I'll have time to work on it more soon, and I can share it with y'all :)
