Fighting in the hedges
Yesterday was an epic battle for the lilacs against the evil grapevine. I'm under no illusions that we got it all out, or even most of it, but we certainly did some damage
If you aren't familiar with our yard, that pile is about 15' long and 4' wide. The vine also did some damage. I look as though I've been wrestling with my cat, and the lilacs lost some branches too. Apparently grape vines hold a LOT of water. When you cut through them they literally bleed. Unfortunately, the root of the plant is in our neighbor's property, so we can't really get it all out. Hopefully it will take another couple before it gets big again.
