Next to the already mentioned MS Artsville and Robi the Dog exhibition I managed to snag quite a few cultural offerings of various kinds in August. What a spread :-)

Last weekend my sister and I took a trip to Amsterdam. Three days packed with museums, sightseeing and some shopping. While I had been to town before it had usually been for daytrips in order to shop or to visit a museum, so this was a new experience.

This weekend was the annual “Tag des offenen Denkmals” all over Germany (with the exception of Cologne which celebrates it next weekend due to this week’s marathon). Again I took this opportunity to explore Hamburg a bit.
Yesterday I stayed north of the river and started my day with a destination befitting this year’s topic: colors.

 So what is Open House? Once a year loads of buildings open their doors to the public for a weekend, entrance is free. Some of these are places you usually have to pay to see and others are otherwise (partially) closed to the public. All in all I managed to see about 2/3 of the sites I had picked out for today.
