Today I fell in love with a pair of trousers that would have cost almost one month's worth of rent. The kind lady at the boutique took pity on young love and assured me they would be on sale within a couple of weeks. But even if the trousers were 50% off, they would still be worth half a month's rent. I guess banks still aren't granting student loans based on the old "but-they-were-Versace-and-my-arse-had-never-looked-better" pretext?
Yesterday I did have that haircut I mentioned
earlier, and even if I do say so myself, my hair now looks pretty damn good. There aren't any photos yet, since I only have a cameraphone and no way of uploading pictures on to the computer myself - maybe later, once someone else snaps some candids. Basically, it's been cut like
this, only blond and more curly. You can't tell from the picture but it's really short at the back of the neck. Now all I need to do is write Santa and ask for some proper straighteners. I chose the hair salon I went to because the interior looks like it had been decorated by Noel Fielding, and also because my first choice was booked for two weeks ahead. Festive season, anyone? They charged the worth of one day's pay but it was one of those places where they bring you coffee and cakes and you get to sit on an old divan surrounded by candles. And most importantly, I now love my hair. Well, what's left of it anyway. It took over an hour and a half for the stylist to cut it.
I've been busy trying to come up with presents for the family - unsuccessfully - as well as talking endlessly with dad on the phone about the Zeppelin concert. To be honest, the most Christmassy I've felt so far was when I read
this lovely Julian Barratt/Noel Fielding fic earlier today.
I also need to rec
this Doctor Who vid due to a massive case of awesomeness. Simply put, it's about Rose, Martha, Donna, Jack, Sarah Jane, the Master and the Doctor - all of them, like it should be. And if you still haven't seen
this marvellous Doctor Who vid to Joy Division's "New Dawn Fades", you have been missing out on a lot of epic Who angst.
