The latest episode of SV brings the confusion to epic levels.  'Epic', get it?  Spoilers below, if anyone cares.

Conner is the progeny of both Clark and Lex.  This is now known.  Clark tells Alt!Lionel he won't let him destroy Conner the way Original!Lionel destroyed Lex, 'his best friend until Lionel corrupted him'.  And Clark admits to Alt! ( Read more... )

According to Superman Homepage (http://www.supermanhomepage.com/tv/tv.php?topic=reviews/smallville-knockout) there are 97 living people and 76 people who are dead or in a coma who know Clark's Sekrit. This doesn't include the unspecified number of Zod's Kandorians in S9.

Clark tells Lois that she's 'the only person who made him feel normal'.

My reaction is also a big WTF.

"...there are 97 living people and 76 people who are dead or in a coma who know Clark's Sekrit...."

Oh, is THAT all? Well, no wonder Lex was EVOL for wanting to know what only 97+76 other people knew. No wonder only Lois really loves Clark, for ignoring what he didn't think twice about letting 97+76 other people know. /end sarcasm

I've known for years that this show is just one big WTF? Why does it still surprise me? I need a brain transplant, or something.

I love that "76 who are dead" bit. How many of them did Clark kill? How many did he let die?

But it's OK. It's over now. Or almost. I don't actually know since this forum is the only SV related thing I pay attention to.

"...It's over now. Or almost...."

Almost over. May 13. Liberation Day! I thought I could get by to the end without flying into a rage, but the crap, it stinks. The pain, it hurts. :-)))

I know it's ridiculous to care so much about a fictional character who's supposed to be a villain. I do know that. It's the lies and the double standards that get me.

"...How many of them did Clark kill? How many did he let die?"

Good question. It's interesting that nearly half of those close to 200 people who learned Clark's deep, dark secret that he hid so carefully are dead or in a coma. If this were anyone else but Clark Kent, Future Earth's Greatest Hero, one might suspect... oh, I dunno, some kinda dirty work. But he's Clark Kent, and pure of heart, not Lex Luthor, Evil Villain. So....

It would be interesting though, to tally up the deaths on either side. Of course you'd have to decide if the stuff Lex did while possessed by Zod counts against him (they'll say it does).

Hmmm. Every interesting. Except that the show doesn't present us with a level playing field when it comes to Lex and Clark. We're told Lex has committed crimes or sins which we don't actually see him commit. We see Clark do things that we're told he didn't do, or that are simply excused for one reason or another. So, to have an honest tally, what do you do? Go by what we actually SEE? I think that would put Clark in the lead, as far as crimes go. If we take the show at its word, Lex is a monster and Clark is nearing sainthood, of course.
