I hate it when this happens

My motorcycle, a.k.a. Slider, has had this really strange problem of late where the fuel pump wouldn't run and I couldn't find any reason why. I know the pump itself worked since it would pump nicely if I jumped it directly to the battery but for some reason the computer that was supposed to turn it on just wasn't despite all the inputs being exactly what they should be. Nor would a replacement computer. I know the wiring was good since I could jump it directly from the connector and it would run. It was driving the electronic engineer side of me crazy trying to figure out why such a simple circuit just wouldn't run...

Today, after letting him sit for a couple of weeks I thought I would get back to trying to figure it out. On a whim I just walked up to the bike and hit the start button.....

He said, "Vroommmmmmmmmmmmmmm"

To which i said, "????????????????????????"

He's alive. He started up faster than I think I've ever seen him start before and I can't get him to **not** start up.

The reason I say I hate it when things like this happen is that I didn't actually **do** anything to fix him. He fixed himself. Spontaneously without my doing anything specific. And when problems like this fix themselves without any intervention from me, I cringe since now I'll be waiting for the problem to, just as mysteriously, spontaneously un-fix itself; almost guaranteed to be at the most inconvenient time/place possible.

Well, for now I'm going to enjoy riding him to/from work this week and, if all goes well, this weekend the BF and I will be having a lot of fun out in the twisties. :D
