Today was arabic sweets package day in the lab \0/ <3
A friend of one of my pals sent her some sweets and she offered us as usual. Oh god I feel fatter just looking at that box, but today's ones were particulary good. ^^
Well, I'm quite surprised this series got such a legendary bad name, because while not being brilliant/consistent/interesting that much/well conceived/well integrated in the continuity it is not THAT irreasonably bad. Just a mediocre story with too much stuff launched happily on a very thin net, but not a pain to read.
I liked Jason and I liked the Piper/Trickster subplot. I don't care much about Jimmy Olsen but also his plot wasn't bad. I wanted to smack Ray Palmer in the face anytime he shows around but that's simply me being pissed at the 'yay it's silver age again! :D' leit motif of DC lately and nothing related strongly to the character itself. Donna was... too though for my taste - I can't see her acting so brutally as of recently - but I liked some of her scenes like at Bart's and Duela's funeral. Kyle was pretty much nonexistant, exception done for his shameless drolling on adult Donna dressed as Wondergirl, which is something I can totally relate to.
I admit I skipped a lot of parts regarding the Amazons and Karate Kid, but Harley was funny as usual.
It is not that it was so horribly bad, but it could have been a lot lot better...
.. FOR EXAMPLE...! it would have been all kind of awesome if all of this time shifts would have resulted in de-aging the Challengers of.. say, 15 years?
Then Donna would be roughly 13, Kyle 11 and Jason 8.
The dynamic would have been identical, yet more funny. Also I want Jay's T-shirt. * *
In the end, I do not regret having read it, while saying I *enjoyed* it is a bit of a stretch.
/unrelatedly - I realize I had the issue of GL in wich Kyle and Jenny part ways after her cheating and .. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Jen, honeybee, try to remember that you dumped the guy because you wanted space for yourself and that it's time for you to be awesome on your own, because that's what you wanted before 'LOLcouldn'tbothertoreadV.3!LOL:D'Tomasi came along and wanted to make you a pathetic bitch.
/unrelatedly take two- I'm..... oh hell yes, let's admit it, I'm falling into the Babs/Jason trap and I was wondering... does Jay knows Barbara is Oracle..? I suppose no, and my mind is rambling wildly now about how he would react when he'll learn that and HAH YES OF COURSE IF JASON WASN'T MORRISON JASON AND STILL VAGUELY IC.

Gotta read Lost Days and catch up with the Tiny Titans too, the only things worth reading of recently.
