A curious effect followed the poll yesterday, the one showing McCain outpolling Obama in one day's results:
When Zogby reported this, a very large number of liberal bloggers and commenters attacked them for being "in the tank for McCain" or "no longer relevant" or that they'd "lost all credibility."
And it's worth noting that John Zogby is no conservative -- his interviews describing his own thinking and his expectations for the future (in his book "The Way We'll Be") speak much about his hoped-for liberal trends for the country.
I haven't checked today to see if they've been re-accepted back into polite society, but the attack threads were interesting. Even Zogby, in their brief daily note, included this bit:A special note to blogger friends: calm it down. Lay off the cable television noise and look at your baseball cards in your spare time. It is better for your (and everyone else's) health.
Amusing.
