Some Writing-Related Pet Peeves
- Using digits for very small numbers ("She had 3 sisters")
- Incorrect format for dashes ( - - or - )
- Consistent inability to place periods at the end of sentences so that they hang there at the end of a paragraph
- Excessive repetitiveness for no good semantic or thematic reason (ie, an addiction to the word "just")
- Dialogues that consist of nothing other than words between quotes that last so long that any human reader would forget who is talking when.
- Ambiguous use of pronouns. (IE, the only people in the scene are both women, and the "she"s could apply to either)
- The use of "everyday" instead of "every day"
