Questions Post #2

About a month ago I had a bunch of questions. A bunch of people answered them, which made me happy, because now I feel a lot less ignorant. But I still have a lot of questions about lj and fandom. Almost all of them are opinion questions, because I'm interested in general consensus. I'm not looking for anyone to form my opinion for me, but it's ( Read more... )

There's S/A fic where he subs, but I personally find it OOC and don't tend to read, let alone archive that. Check around StA if you're interested in fic where he subs.

Unless you're reading exclusively S/A there, which I have been doing--thus the lack of seeing Angel sub. Huh.

I also tend to draw a line between bottoming and subbing-

I believe most people do. In fact, there's an interesting article on it in Wikipedia. Why I would look up something like topping and bottoming on Wikipedia? Ask me not.

Except for Buffy, who I think he would crawl naked over bottlecaps for, and call anything she damn well asked him.

Thank you for that image.

And certainly, Buffy got off on it when Angel bit her in S3. I think this is one of those fanon-canon blurry boundary things

Yes, because while I can certainly understand people interpreting that scene in S3 as Buffy getting off on him biting her--and while I've wavered sometimes and occasionally believed it, while reading interpretations in various fic--I prefer to believe she's in serious pain and trying not to follow all her subconscious instincts and reflexes to kill him. The idea that Angel could get off on it when she's pretty much fatally suffering to me is more intriguing--I guess because I think it'd make him hate himself more. And I like Angel hating himself.

You ask the coolest questions. :}

You have the coolest answers. Because "he only fucks blondes"? That was my guess, too.

Buffy getting off on the bite in S3 is canon. According to SMG, that was "orgasm face", and kicking the table across the room was part of it. Joss says the same thing. It was all a nice prelude to "Smashed", I guess.

Oh. I didn't know that. I had wondered whether SMG was playing it as in pain or as in the throes of ecstasy. Or possibly both. Watching it, I honestly couldn't tell. But maybe I'm just twisted that way.

No, you're spot on. She was playing it as both, which was, I think, the point. It was foreshadowing the whole "where does my power come from/am I a demon too?" arc that began a couple seasons later, and continued pretty much til the end of the series.
