History outside of the US exists?

I saw 300 last week and I love it. I've been reading reviews on it and Bob actually sent me a link to one where people were angry about it. Even though I loved the movie, I don't really disagree with something one person said. He said, "It is unfortunate that very few curriculums in the US cover world history and it is very easy to misdirect the general public on historical facts." And then I thought about it...I remember learning about ancient Greece and the Trojan horse for like one week, and that was in 7th grade with Mr. Tuccolo who did nothing but make us watch movies and tell us that thinking Tylenol works is all in our heads (and also make girls feel extremely uncomfortable to even THINK about wearing a skirt in his classroom). Everything else from first grade until the day I graduated high school was about US ONLY. The Civil War, Vietnam, the fucking Salem witch trials. Now, a lot of it was interesting, but what about the rest of the world? I don't think I know ANYTHING about it? Every history class I was forced to take (and not forced to take, wasn't there an elective class called NH history?) was about the US. Is this just the shitty Salem School District, or is this everywhere too? Or have I just forgotten everything I learned in school?

It's 1:30AM and I've been tired since I woke up. I have no idea why I'm not in bed and sleeping right now.
