I'm at home this week, as a sort of vacation week between my temp job, and my new job (my new job! Eeee!). Even more importantly, I'm listening to Christmas music. I love Christmas music. I love Christmas. I want very much to start decorating the house, but I usually start on December 1, just because I'm so turned off by the "Christmas Rush" that starts right after Halloween in the malls. Buuuuut, I'm listening to Christmas music already, and Johnathan did make a good point about how I've got all week at home, and what other chance will I have?
Oh dear. Santa Baby just came on. Guess what will be running through my head all day now?
My last day of work at the temp job was pretty good. I was training a new temp to take my place. He seemed overwhelmed by the end of the day. Originally the plan was to have 3 days with the temp, but our first attempt came in on Wednesday, and didn't show up on Thursday. Nice. Anyway, so I trained him all day, and hopefully the folks in the office will be able to help him with stuff. He should be processing the mail right about now. Poor guy.
My department ended up buying me a little plant and a cake tart custard fruit thing with an angel food cake bottom. Whatever it was, it was tasty! They also gave me a card, signed by everyone. Very sweet! I didn't expect anything, being a temp. Yes, I had been there since June, but honestly, I didn't think they'd do anything for me. Yes, the manager did suggest I apply for the perm position that came up, but my pay wouldn't have been any higher than it was as a temp, so I didn't apply. Also, I got the offer for the new job :). The security guard in the office (which is necessary, because it was a secured financial site) said that they NEVER do anything for temps, no matter how long they stay. They must have liked me or something!
Okay, off to dry my hair and do some cleaning. I have a list of things I want to accomplish this week, and my time at home has already been shortened because I'm going Christmas shopping with Mom tomorrow, and my sister is coming over on Thursday to do Christmas crafts (yay!). Pictures, if they don't suck :).
christmas,
