countdown to b-town
Of course it sucks like a bitch, but there's something a little fun about packing.
Hah, I'd say with what I've packed so far... I'm probably ahead of schedule. I've got a pretty sad track record. But this time it looks like I won't be doing any serious packing the day of! ...!!
I also feel like I'm bringing a rather modest amount of clothing (at least compared to... how much people would assume Shan would pack for a 7-week trip to Europe?). Was determined not to use the really huge suitcase. And let's see... five pairs of shoes? Converses, moccasins, cream-colored flats, gladiator sandals, running shoes (= I suppose there are really cool places to go running about in Berlin, I just wonder if in doing so I'll get miserably lost, bahah.
This trip... I guess I am experiencing something rather like guilt right now. Trip hasn't even happened yet but I just feel like, wow, hey, I don't really deserve to go traipsing about German museums and spending euros and visiting London after the Berlin program's done, to boot. I'm just some jackass who hasn't had a job in four years. Spoiled brat--once spoiled, always spoiled. I better be a friggin fantastic daughter when I get back.
So to put it all in perspective, this summer alone I will definitely be in Berlin, possibly Paris (avec Chienyn?), more probably Poland (Agata), London (mum's friend's place), Portland, Oregon (later in the summer w/ the fam), and depending on my fam's preference, San Francisco or Vancouver. And I shan't leave out Audubon with Jack-Attack, and Connecticut with Papa LaFleur. Hmmm!

Aghh so spannend und ängstlich!! Und ich bin völlig sicher, dass mein deutsch nicht gut genug ist, doch das ist warum ich nach Berlin gehe! Wird meine Partnerin mich verstehen? Baha, höffentlich aber... \= Ruhe, Shan, geh ins Bett.
Oh, today Jackie and I decided not only am I Tom, she is so clearly, clearly Summer. It all makes too perfect sense. Summer effect = Jackie effect (I've seen it in action and have heard it discussed by dudes at length). Meanwhile I'm going to be the psychopath shattering plates (but in my adorable sweater vests). She and I are just so fundamentally different it is astonishing.
