Nic and I had a really really good talk on Monday night. Definitely the best talk we've ever had ever. He finally told me why he's so fucked in the head when it comes to relationships. Committing your life to someone as a Catholic only to have them cheat on you 6 months in (with a friend of yours no less) will apparently really do a number on your ability to trust another woman.
I told him that I understood (he even shed tears. Something he's done a lot since the 2010 version of us.) and that maybe I just wasn't the one who could help him out of it or whatever. He said, "I don't think it has anything to do with you. If it did, why would I keep...." to which I replied "YEAH WHY DO YOU KEEP?"
He's pretty certain he wants to get back together. I told him I deserve more than pretty sure.
