The weekend before Christmas, G and I took advantage of holiday time
and light crowds for a trip to Wilmington. G introduced me to the
many highlights of Front Street, and enjoyed seeing it herself
during the off season.
We also made a side trip to Wrightsville Beach to test the water
temp. Hurricane Sandy had eroded the beach quite a bit, leaving a
two foot cliff of sand near the dunes. The best photo ops were
under the pier.
We walked the boardwalk and cobblestone of Front Street. We enjoyed great food and festive lights.
Several seasonal activities were offered, including a river tour, a bus tour, and a caroling horse-drawn sleigh tour.
We chose the sleigh tour, where we sung carols while trolloping through the streets. Our Santa driver may have had
a little too much egg nog, which made for some interesting directing of carols.

It was a great trip, and a great start to the holidays.
