The first weekend of December I think we over booked a bit.
Saturday, we met early at St. Mary's to run the Jingle Bell Run 5K. We had not prepared for the run at all, so it was a partial run / partial walk. Unfortunately, I lost my key somewhere between my car and her car, so that put a little damper on it. I emailed the race director afterwards, and it was turned in. Thank goodness!
At the end of the race, I basically kept on running another 10 minutes to get to dress rehearsal for Hanging of the Greens at church. I'm sure they appreciated my holiday scent. Since I didn't have a car,
seasons_2012 waited around and took me home to get the backup key. That evening, legs half mush, we went out to the PNC Center for Trans Siberian Orchestra! I was never crazy about rock versions of Christmas tunes, but the show was amazing, full of lights, story, and energized musicians.
We rounded out the weekend with Hanging of the Greens the next day. It ended up being a lot to fit into one weekend, but well worth it.
Last Thursday, we continued the Christmas fun at Colonial's Christmas Sweet, which
wifee sung in, and
greenpad produced. It was a great show/service, the church has perfected over the years. We chose Gigi's cupcakes -- red velvet and vanilla. Red velvet won!
Finally, last night, we went to the NC Mastor Chorale's Joy of the Season concert. I've always been the one singing. It was nice to hear it from the other side.
