Weird Dreams and a Theory

Feb 04, 2011 14:35

I only tend to post my dreams when they are particularly weird in some way. This one was a bit multi-level. First off, I'll say that every person in the dream was a fictional person. Sometimes I dream about people I know and sometimes they are just random made-up people. Sometimes it's a mix of both. But this dream contained only made-up people (at least, the sections that were interesting enough to repeat). I need to make that clear from the outset, because it will get a bit confusing. Within the dream, I knew a young girl (maybe around age 7 to 9) and I think I was friends with her mother and some other people. At some point we all decided to take a nap. Within that nap, I had a dream. She was in that dream, along with two other young girls who from the perspective of the outer dream were made-up people. When I woke up within the inner dream, I told them about how I had had a dream that contained her in it, which was nifty, and also some fictional people. It was then a bit disorienting for me when I woke up into what I currently assume is reality where the distinction between the real her and the two fictional girls in the inner dream seems less of a distinction given that she was fictional from my context, but not from the outer dream context. I haven't even read any Hofstadter lately.... (really? my spell-checker knows the correct spelling of Hofstadter? okay).

The theory is totally unrelated to the dream and just something I stumbled across because of a wikipedia search I was led to from random web reading and such. I had reason to check the wikipedia entry for cervix. From there I found info on a theory that I had heard of before, but had not known the name of. While I am being very juvenile here, I will say it is one of the best names for a theory ever. I'll stick it behind an LJ-cut for the slight chance it is NSFW even though it probably isn't. Also, it sounds far more interesting than it is.

The upsuck theory of female orgasm.

That's just a great name for a theory.

Anyhow, tired, busy, much to do. January and February are both just really exhausting and hectic months for me.
