Legends of the Fall

Apr 02, 2011 14:51

I had an accident Wednesday morning on my way to work.

I stepped on an unnoticed mahogany pod shell and twisted my right ankle, HARD. I fell and hit the pavement with my left knee and shin, then my hands and elbows. My backpack ended up as my hat.

It hurt like a motherfucker, but the worst part was the injury to my pride, because there were witnesses. I got a hand up, dusted myself off with as much dignity as I could muster, and limped my way to the train station and work.

I got word back from the US Geological Service yesterday. It seems my suspicions were correct and it did register on the Richter scale when I hit the pavement.

The pain is negligible now, but the bruises are spectacular, indeed.
