The other day Liam called my house, but I wasn't home, so my mom talked to him. Mostly about how he wishes he could get the diving program at SFU bigger again, because he feels bad for me being lonely.
Then Mom suggested something that she and I had talked about, but which I hadn't really said I would go for: What if I coached the varsity diving team after I retire?
He LOVED that idea. Which I guess is good news. But now I'm kind of stuck. I mean, it sounds like a simple enough question: Would you like a job to put you through getting your masters? It's not, though!
Cons:
-have to put up with swimmers...indefinitely
-wouldn't be able to coach downtown and build up competitive diving there
-don't know anyone who would be right for an SFU varsity team right now
Pros:
-good job
-would really love to see SFU diving getting bigger again
-SFU would make a good choice for people who still want to dive through university, but are more serious about school
And really, each of those pros is perfectly balanced with a con!
Man. Tough choice.
