I'm always happy when JKR updates her site, because her diary entries are so much fun for me. Those little tidbits keep me going while I wait (im)patiently for Harry Potter and the...Whatever It Might Happen to Be.
She's down to two possible titles. She thought she had decided, until she came up with another one in the shower in NY. She seems to come up with titles often when she's in the shower...
US Homeland Security almost didn't let her take the manuscript of book 7 on her flight back home. Although I can't imagine why a bunch of pages would be dangerous (paper cuts?), I can imagine the scene.
Security Guard: Could I please see that, ma'am?
JKR: NO.
Guard: Why not? (*It must be the details to some terrorist plot!*)
JKR: Because this is Harry Potter number seven.
Guard: Uh-huh...I'm afraid I'm going to have to confiscate that.
JKR: Over my DEAD BODY!
*fight ensues*
Also, she told us to ponder why James gave Dumbledore his Invisibility Cloak, especially given that Dumbledore doesn't need it. And she promised that this isn't a repeat of the Mark Evans debaucle; the answer actually matters.
But actually, that was not the most exciting news I heard yesterday. Not by a long shot. The fact that I almost just typed "Longshot" is a bit of a hint as to the way my brain is inclined since Nintendo's big announcement yesterday.
November 19, biatches! The Wii (*shudder*) and TWILIGHT PRINCESS!
Now, here's the thing. I could buy it then, for about $350 dollars, or I could wait three weeks and buy it for the Gamecube for about $70. I mulled over this one for about a day before I realized that, if I'm honest with myself, it's not even a choice.
Chris was more than a little surprised when I told him that I intend to buy both system and game the day they are released. The conversation went something like this:
"Are you sure you want to spend $300?"
"Why?"
"Because that's a lot of money! Are you sure you want to buy a system for just one game? I mean, I've bought systems for one game before, but I'm crazy."
"It won't just be for one game. If nothing else, there's Super Smash Brothers Brawl."
"Yeah, that is coming out."
*And I'm sure they'll make a golf game." *laughs*
*also laughs* "Yeah, that's true."
"And a racing game."
"That's true."
"And also, this is me. Have you not seen the depths of my fandom?"
"That's true, too. Okay."
So Twilight Princess will keep me busy until the release of Harry Potter number 7. Now I just need something to keep me busy until Twilight Princess.
Well...there's school, diving, work, and coaching. Those should eat up some time.

I guess I'm a Nintendo diehard. **
