The Mini Riverside Trip & Round 2 of the NHL Playoffs

Apr 27, 2007 15:05

This past Sunday, Nommie and I took a mini trip to Riverside to end my spring break. I first got to watch him play some pick up hockey. Afterwards, we went to Palmer's (a couple of his hockey teammates' house) where we had pizza, barbeque and watched Game 6 of the Devils vs. Lightning series.

From there on, we went to Redlands where we went to a mall and a reptile store, but for the most part we went to Prospect Park to walk around. It was beautiful, and it reminded me of a miniturized version of the Botanical Gardens, since they had lots of pretty flowers. Normally I don't take too many flowers and nature pix since the subject and results are redundant, but I could resist taking them. Even choosing which one should be posted on my LJ was hard. I ended up having 35 pix total (under the cut) since I couldn't leave out any of the pix. I only took out the ones that came out blurry, out of focus or just didn't look right.

The rest of the week has been hell week since I have projects due this coming Monday and Tuesday. I have to have 3 guerilla ads done by Monday (which I'm almost done-it was supposed to be due 2 days ago, but Jerry gave us an extension) and 2 greeting cards done and ready to be printed by Tuesday. Thus I need to get ready to leave soon as soon as I'm done writing this since I need to go to lab. I'm still debating where to have my lunch/dinner at Wild Oats again (since I got a salad and other stuff there yesterday), Noah's Bagels or BBQ Ribs and Japanese food at this place called Sachi (something-I forgot the full name), but it's by far one of my favorite places in Pasadena for Japanese food. I need to also stop by at Target and get Aimee her card and pressie since I may have a belated birthday lunch or dinner w/ her tomorrow.

As for the playoffs, despite most of my favorite teams being eliminated, I have my teams for the next round.

East

Buffalo Sabres vs. NY Rangers: Rangers all the way since I hate the Sabres, there's some players from the Rangers that I like, plus I'm rooting for them for Cheryl, C ,Amy & any of my Rangers fan friends. However, part of me wants to see the Sabres advance since they have yet to win the Cup. So I guess it's GO RANGERS! from me.

NJ Devils vs. Ottawa Senators: I like the Devils, but they've made too many Cup appearances. I'm just getting sick and tired of seeing them all the time. Sorry hockeychix98 and everyone rooting for the Devils. Although I'm still bitter over the Sens beating the Pens, at least they are likeable and worth rooting for plus there are many players that I like including Corvs, Rocco, Dany, McGratts & loads more. Beside, I was gonna root for whoever was gonna win the Pens/Sens series one way or another in the next round. Anyways, GO SENS GO!!! You guys are now my adopted team for the east.

West

Detroit Red Wings vs. San Jose Sharks: SHARKS ALL THE WAY!!! I HATE THE RED WINGS!!! Also, the same comments I made to the Devils also applies to the Red Wings. I'm sick and tired of seeing them make too many Cup appearances. As much as I hate the Sharks during the regular season, especially when they have to kill my Kings, all thanx to my SJ trip, they have started to grow into me. Thus, GO SHARKS GO!!!

Anaheim Ducks vs. Vancouver Canucks: CANUCKS ALL THE WAY!!! I HATE THE DUCKS!!! I couldn't tolerate seeing the Ducks winning the Cup, especially when they win it before the Kings. However, if the Ducks advance, I may still get a chance to go to a playoff game, since I can't go this series. Otherwise, GO CANUCKS GO!!!

In all, as long as the Red Wings and Devils don't advance, I'll be fine. Both teams are great, but seeing them go as far as the finals won't be as exciting since they've appeared in the finals too many times. I want to see a new team that has yet to win the Cup advance all the way...

As for the Q, Lewiston Maineiacs won and are in the Q Finals. I am so proud of them! However, if the Eagles make the finals, I have to turn my back against Lewiston and root for the Eagles all the way. Sorry team Cliche & Bernier. GO EAGLES GO!!!

Well, I have to go now. Till then, have a wonderful day. :D

GO CANUCKS!!! GO SENS!!! GO SHARKS!!! GO RANGERS!!!

cape breton screaming eagles, riverside, ny rangers, hockey, san jose sharks, nhl playoffs, nommie, lewiston maineiacs, vancouver canucks, ottawa senators, prospect park
