First off, I haven't done this in a while, but I want to pimp out this band you should check out, listen, & hopefully buy their cd!

2 summers ago in NYC rokkie and I saw these guys @ The Continental & we were both blown away. We also got to meet them afterwards. Such sweet guys! The more I miss them. So please check them out!

Anyways, here's a belated entry on mines & puckplayer42's trip to Bakersfield for Game 7. I'd posted sooner, but I got too lazy plus I'm in a middle of Hell Week since my project is due next week.

Well, a couple hours or so after I was done taking pix at Travel Town, puckplayer42 and I left for Bakersfield. Traffic wasn't too bad at all, but we stopped by at Jack In The Box for dinner on our way to Bakersfield. We got there at about 6, and we got our tix to the game before going around. We were supposed to meet Shara before the game, but she had a meeting and the game was about to start soon, so we had to put it off until after the game. I did take this really cool street sign near the arena...

BTW... Korn is originally from Bakersfield. I used to be in them so much when I was in middle school & high school.

Anyhow, it was my first road road trip to another hockey arena since the Pond & MGM Grand don't officially count as a road road trip. The Robobank Center was a very nice arena for an ECHL team. It was almost like a NHL arena, but smaller.

As we got to our seats and everything, that place was soooooo packed compared to the Long Beach Arena. They make the Long Beach Arena look so empty since hardly any fans go there, playoffs or not. We were pretty much surrounded by Condors fans. Left and right, front and behind there were Condors fans everywhere. As soon as the Ice Dogs scored the 1st goal of the game, we were the only ones in our section that cheered, and the fans were being so rude to us. By the end of the 1st period, the game was tied 1-1. Thankfully we found the small tiny section made up of Ice Dogs fans, particularly Booster Club Members. We ended up sitting there the rest of the game because we couldn't stand being surrounded by Condors fans anymore. I was so ready to smack any of these girls who were sitting in front of us. We weren't the only ones who moved to the Ice Dogs section. Anne and a couple people did the same too since they couldn't stand being surrounded by Condors fans. Anyhow, they gave us party toys and stuff to use when the Ice Dogs scored!

As for the game, the Ice Dogs took another lead, but friggin Condors tie the game. During the game, the Condors' mascot kept harassing me, covering me w/ his wings while puckplayer42 playfully beat the crap out of him. The mascot also was banging the drum around us which was very loud and annoying. At the end of the 2nd period the Ice Dogs had a nice 3-2 lead.

3rd period really sucked! Long story, but I wasn't feeling too well. To add to the suckiness, the Condors scored 2 more goals on us and had the lead the rest of the way. As the final few minutes went by and the clock kept ticking, I was on the verge of tears because I knew the Ice Dogs were done and their season was coming to an end. The Condors won 4-3 and won the series as well.

After the game, us and the Booster Club members waited for the Ice Dogs boys by their bus. As each player walked by, we'd applaud, congradulate them for all of their hard work, and wish them luck. Many of them had headed over to the bus and were on their cell phones. I could tell those boys were so frumpy. At least Michael stopped and signed stuff, had our pix and gave him a hug. He didn't play that night, but that boy smelt so yummy! *swoons* Then Olivier came out. As soon as he got off the phone, we chatted with him for a bit. He told us that he may not come back because his contract is up. I did tell him to come to the Kings if the Habs organization doesn't sign him. I wished him luck, and gave him a hug. As soon as the bus left, we left Bakersfield. Sadly I couldn't meet Shara after the game because it was getting late, and we had to drive back home that night. The ride back was scary since it rained hard and at some point we saw thunder, but at least we made it home in one piece.

Michael-He smelt so good, but eww... He need to shave that icky moustache off. :P

Olivier-HOT DAMN!!!!!

It's been 4 days since I last saw them, and I'm missing them soooooo much! Hopefully this weekend we can help them pack and clean their apartment before they go back to their home home.

As for the rest of the week...

Sunday: puckplayer42 and I went to Yardhouse in Pasadena for dinner and watched some of the Flames/Ducks game.

Monday: Got caught up on LJ and did some homework before class. Due to Jerry being sick, our project got postponed until next week instead of this coming Monday, but it's still not that much time. So hell week...

Yesterday: Went to class as usual. I also had to run some errands, but I stopped by at Ben & Jerry's for free ice cream. I also had lunch @ Fuderuckers. I was able to catch some of the Wildcats/Olympiques game where the Piques won 5-4 with very little seconds left of the game. Grrr... Luc "Bert" Bourdon was all over the place. I even saw him get pouty in the penalty box. *Hugs Bert* I also watched the Flames beat the Ducks 5-2. Whoo!

Well, that's all for now. Comments Appreciated! Till then, have a wonderful day. :D

P.S.

Sadly I have to miss tonight's Cats/Piques game since I'll be in class and there's no Windows Media Player in any of the computers. :(

However... This pic...

The Cats player is wearing #6 but he doesn look like Bert Bourdon at all. Bert looks a lot older and scruffier than that! You'd easily spot his bushy unibrow in that pic if that was him. That must be an ex-Cats player wearing #6. Hmmmm... I really wished that was Bert though.

ben & jerry's, ice dogs booster club, olivier michaud, the finals, playoffs, ducks vs. flames, road trip, classes, luc bourdon, yardhouse, moncton wildcats, free ice cream, long beach ice dogs, wildcats vs. olympiques, bakersfield, michael lambert
