First off, normally I go down the list when I use icons, but for now I'm taking a the big jump and pimping out my new Bert Bourdon icon I made a couple nights ago. I really couldn't resist making the "Geek In The Pink" icon, since he was wearing a pink shirt and tie. Tres amour pour Luc Bourdon (I hope I got that right considering my French is very rusty).
Anyways, I haven't been able to update within the last few days because I've been working on my final projects since finals are coming up plus I've been too lazy to update as well. So a quick overview of my remaining week before I get into my entry from yesterday's events.
Wednesday: I had classes as usual. I did show up to class an hour or so late because I needed to sleep in. At least I was pretty much done and ahead of everyone. As for my figure drawing class, it was the last session we had with a nude model. I'm gonna miss that class, but it was fun drawing live nude models.
Thursday: I was done making my snowboard for my typography class. So I left class early and had lunch at The Canadian Cafe. Quite a bit has changed since the last time I went there. They now are open during breakfast and they have a big screen t.v. to show hockey games and stuff. It was great having poutine for lunch after all of this time craving for it. I was bummed out that they didn't have anymore Smarties Eh, but the regular Smarties was just as good as Smarties Eh.
Then I returned to campus where I printed my snowboards at the computer lab.
Hockeywise: It was a bad night for both the Kings and Pen since they lost their games.
Yesterday: This entry takes the cake thus it'll be a long one...
So the night before I decided to go to the Kings' practice since I needed to do something fun before finals start plus I missed my Kings boys oh so much! My original plan was to meet Jeff Tambellini.
The morning before I left, I almost didn't get to go to practice because my mom called me and told me that her lenses were missing so I had to find it for her. Luckily it was found by the recliner, but then she told me to go to her work and bring it to her. She wanted to me to drive part of the way, but I told her that I was going to the Kings' practice which she wasn't suppose to know at all. Despite her worrying about me travelling alone, she did let me go. So on my way to El Segundo, I had to stop by at her work where I dropped off her lens. From there, I went to the Toyota Sports Center for the Kings' practice. When I arrived, there was a Breakfast With The GM talk at the Inline Rink. I wanted to go to the Breakfast With The GM event, but unfortunately it was for season ticket holders only. So I waited outside until everyone started to go in the rink.
From there, I met up with Erica and we chatted while watching the boys skate around and stuff. It was a rather intense practice for the Kings boys. I could hear Andy Murray yelling a lot while on the ice. The Kings boys on the other hand were busting their asses of and playing hard. They really needed that practice after losing their game against the Carolina Hurricanes the night before.
As the on ice session was dying off, Erica and I went upstairs where we watched the remaining on ice session. While we were taking pix, I noticed Cammy chatting with another player (I later found out it was Mike Zigomanis) from the Carolina Hurricanes since the Canes were still sticking around to practice and stuff. Since they were chatting a lot and looking closely at each other, I started to have slashy thoughts. Even when Cammy approached Ziggy, I thought they were gonna kiss or something like that (I'd died if they really kissed eachother).
The rest of the day were spent outside waiting for the players. We also met up w/ Jason as well as Steve, Alice (Licerony) & Carley (Girl4Kings) from the letsgokings.com board.
We didn't meet many players since a handful of them were sneeking out, zooming quickly to their cars or they were too far from our reach.
Corvs (Joe Corvo) was the first one out, but he was zooming by quickly. Even Jason told me that he looked pissed off, but I still followed him to his car. By the time I got to him, he was already inside. I felt so bad for bothering him I had this feeling he didn't want to sign for anyone, so I walked away. As soon as he backed up, he saw me, rolled down his window and asked me to sign something. So I had him sign a card and we sort of had our pix together. I was a bit dissapointed that I didn't get to chat with him that much, but I wanted to give him some space plus he was in a hurry. I did spot something that made me smile... He was wearing black Chucks!!!! Of all hockey players I've met, Corvs was the only one who I've seen wearing Chucks and you know I get weak on the knees when it comes to guys and Chucks. Not only did he wear Chucks, but I really liked what he was wearing. If I had to give an award to any hockey players for best dressed off the ice (excluding suits), it'd be him fer sure (along with Derek Armstrong)! He still dresses up like a high schooler or perhaps a college student when in fact he's almost 30 years old. Hopefully he'll be at the Kings Rink Tour in Pasadena.
It's been years since I last met Eric Belanger, and those times I've met him, he's been nice. However, although he was signing to fans and stuff, he sounded very pissy which was dissapointing. You may think of him as a jerk, but really he's not. It's prolly one of these days when he's allowed to be upset and pissy (hockey players are allowed to be pissy, especially bad days). I really can't blame him at all for being pissy because his team hasn't been doing well lately plus he was in a hurry since his daughter was with him. His daughter is sooooooooooooo adorable with her curly hair and purple outfit. The cutest thing that I saw that made things better for Belly was when his daughter wrapped herself around her daddy's leg. It was soooo precious!
We thought Cammy snuck out again, but luckily Erica and I spotted him, so we were able to catch him. He was nice as usual, and he never dissapoints me at all. Soon after I had my pic taken w/ him, Erica told me to look behind, and it was Brownie. So I got him to sign my card and we had our pic taken as well. He had a sad and pouty look in his pic, but he still looked so innocent.
Shortly after we met Glee (Tim Gleason). He was in a rush, but he was able to sign stuff for me and we had our pix taken.
As time went by, I managed to meet Nate Dempsey, Jeff Cowan, Tom Kostopoulos, Mathieu Garon and Mattias Norstrom. I did spot George Parros walking around, and seeing his hair all down and messy reminded me so much of Bert Bourdon. RawR.
The sweetest guy who made my day was Craig Conroy. We chatted for a bit. I told him how Yvette said thank you for wishing her a Happy Birthday. He said she was welcomed, and he told me to tell her that he said Hi again. That made me all happy and giddy. I really wished there were more sweet guys like Craig Conroy.
I was hoping to stay longer to meet Jason LaBarbera so that he can sign my card, but I was getting too bored waiting for the players plus I wanted to get to Pasadena as soon as possible so I ended up leaving at around 2 (ish).
I was hoping to meet Tamby (Jeff Tambellini), but he wasn't on the ice at all (I later found out that he was sent back to Manchester which I knew would happen).
Overall, the on ice session was the best one I've seen, but the rest wasn't as great as the last 2 practices. Then again they haven't been playing well not to mention there was a lot of people which can be overwhelming for them.
By the time I got to Hollywood, I had lunch at Quiznos, then took the bus to Pasadena where I worked on the rest of the project. So far I'm pretty much done with printing my dvd cover, so I ended up going home early.
So I leave you with pix from yesterday (lots of pix so beware):
On my way to downtown L.A. I took a pic this sign that reminded me of The Academy Is...
Cammy!
Slashy Moment with Mike Zigomanis of the Carolina Hurricanes and Cammy:
Off Ice pix:
I cropped myself off b/c I looked awful in that pic.
Cammy
Cammy and his junk. LOL
Brownie
Glee
Craig Conroy
Criag & I, by far the best pic from the batch of pix
Today: I really didn't do much except watch the Kings vs. Panthers game plus a bunch of hockey games, got dvd covers for my project and took a nap. The Kings game was pretty good. They won their game 3-1.
Tomorrow I'm going back to Pasadena to do some last minute printing and stuff. From there, I'm going to the Kings' Rink Tour at the Pasadena Ice Skating Center. They still haven't announce which Kings player will be there thus the suspense is really killing me inside. I'll keep you all up to date on tomorrow's event.
Well, that's all for now. Till then, please leave me comments and have a wonderful night. :D
GO KINGS!
