If It Feels Wrong, Don't Do It

[+] I've got a looooot of think-y, fangirl thoughts but I am 100% exhausted. We had my cousin's baby shower today. I'm happy for her and excited about the baby, but I am just not good at those things. First of all, it always feels like these things slip my mind until the last second, so I'm always, like, running out to Target and writing the card ( Read more... )

I LOVE LORI. I always defend her.

As for buying books, that's awesome! I've already told my boyfriend that if anyone buys our future children anything, it will be books. Not here for shitty plastic ugly crap. FOUR FOR YOU.

Totally crying, this is why I never revisit the Lori era. It's too painful. Ugh.

A friend of mine had an ALL BOOK BABY SHOWER. As in, we weren't to give her child anything but books. Because BOOKS ARE THE BEST!

I really hope that Team Delusional wins in the end. Because I would LOVE to know what your thoughts are on current episodes. (Have you heard of Jessie yet?)

Is Jessie the woman Rick's kissing in gifs I've seen? If yes, then yes I've heard of her. If not, then no.

I have downloaded the episodes and have them on my computer in case I want to watch them ever. So far that has not happened.

And with some of my birthday gift cards, I downloaded Emily Kinney music, thus making my loyalty to her that much stronger.

Yes. And she's a good woman, a good character I think (and I really liked Alexandra Breckinridge on TTD, though they were acting kind of weird about her). But I see this dichotomy between her and Michonne, and...if we ever get there, I look forward to that conversation.

Married feels SO much like it's about Norman, yes?

Books FTW!

If it makes you feel any better, I always found those Pinteresty baskets kind of annoying when I had baby showers, because then you end up with a whole bunch of fancy baskets and nothing to do with them. A person only needs so many baskets! :)

That's true. Nobody likes having tons of shit around the house (I did a big de-clutter yesterday).

Me: What are your thoughts on Lori?
Prospective Friend: Useless slut!
Me: GOODBYE FOREVER!!!

Honestly, though, this can be really useful to know quickly!

Yaaay for Lori for this day, because yes-yes-yes! I loved her too and I never understood the hate for her either. Though on the other hand, the writers treated her so horribly, so they only contributed to people feeling that way about her. But she's so awesome and she deserved so much better. So much.

I'm sorry you feel that way about the baby shower (or this one in particular). I can so understand that and I'd probably be more like you too in that sense, so yes- I'm sorry :(

the writers treated her so horribly

Hmm, how so? Like, were the writers/execs actually mean to Sarah Wayne Callies? Because...I mean her story was very *sad*, but I don't think she was given tons of irredeemable character flaws or whatever.

I think sometimes people don't understand that she was purposely written as a more traditional female. Very Southern, actually. And I've always felt like her guilt over Shane made her, the instant Rick returned, fall back even further into submissive wife mode.

But you know me, I could write volumes on Lori. VOLUMES.

Please do! [Write volumes]

See, I don't even feel like she was submissive. She backed him up when she thought he was right, and she gave him her opinion when she didn't. Being a wife is being a partner.

No work for you today?
