To anyone who actually reads this I want to conduct a poll, so please answer the following questions truthfully.
Question #1: Who agrees that Mark in "RENT" and Jon in "tick, tick...BOOM!" are ALMOST the same character except for their phyical appearances and slightly different singing voices? (Anyone who really knows RENT will tell you Mark was heavily based on Jonathan Larson and his life experiences (for example: Larson was actually once dumped by his girlfriend for another woman.)And obviously Jon is Jonathan Larson in the autobiographical musical "tick, tick...BOOM!"
Question #2: Would you rather see as an audience member the part of a musical compser played by a talented actor that can transform into the character very believably or another musical composer going through the same experience as the character he is portraying? (for example: Would you rather see Johnny Depp or Andrew Lloyd Webber play Mozart in a production of "Amadeus"?)
thats all for now. i'm sure nobody will respond except Dan and he'll give me the two answers I don't want to hear. and if somebody other than Dan posts, but they were influenced by him in some way. I'll know...and your opinion will lose credibility and become essentially meaningless.
