"He was certainly far from hostile to the idea of unpublished material being made available.
As a librarian giving a talk on the importance of preserving contemporary literary manuscripts, Larkin once said that
‘Unpublished work, unfinished work, even notes towards unwritten work all contribute to our knowledge of a writer’s intentions.’"
