I do some acting, very small high school plays, but still. We work with maybe 200 bucks a year because my school hates the drama department, so, we only have like 4 lights, and our catwalk is an upstairs balcony type dealy. I'd rather act then watch, it's much better, and less boring. The last play I did, an original play written by our director, was a comedy, and we were rolling in the wings of the stage watching from behind, and knowing what lines were missed, and what was supposed to be said but wasn't, it was funny. Can't say I'm a fan of Little Women though heh.
I'm not much of an actor. I actualy find improvisation far easier. Our team for the Canadian Improv Games managed to get our act together in two weeks enough to place second in our zone. Went on to the island tournament, it was great. Improv is so damn friendly if you ignore the politicking
( ... )
Heh, we took other people's props from them, me being a minor character and having no props but what I brought in, I hid them in my box and used what wasn't found.
They went rather well, thank you. The one bad thing about them though, was that I don't have the video card to play KotOR, but I'll live.
from Kids? wow, that's weird, the youngest person we had while at rehersals was a Freshman or two, and they were in the play. We had two kids and one of my friends come backstage accidentally while searching for the bathrooms 'twas funny.
Our theatre was in it's own building, actually, it was in the old junior high school for our county, it used to be this building, but they built a new Junior High for our county, so they use it as a place for special events and the bad kids. So we just locked the doors during rehersals and stuff, heh, that helped us thwart kids, and the fact that we didn't use props until our final rehersal because we didn't get them all in in time.
I was in community theatre, own building..they even have their marquee signs up now. Tis beautiful, just went through some amazing renovations and looks like it has a giant space squid on the front (I should get pictures *shakes head*)
Anyway, they do a yearly pantomime, which includes many adorable kids..and about 3 I wanted to kill, or at least hang form the lights. Actually got in trouble threatening them with that, too
