Yesterday the NZ red carpet premiere of the Tomorrow When the War Began movie was held at the cinema in Albany. Albany is my "local" movie theatre (and my local I mean it's about an hour away, but it's the closest mall to where I live). The Tomorrow When the War Began series is a series of seven books written by John Marsden, and it's my favourite

I read these as ebooks and I'm so excited for this movie. I checked my movie theater listings and it's not coming down here for now :(

It was filmed in my home town, this movie! Well, not quite, but I grew up in the middle of nowhere, and the movie was filmed in the town where I went to primary school and where my dad works, so close enough.

I have to admit that I only ever read the first book in the series (never really got into it, and preferred John Marsden's other stuff), but I am still quite looking forward to seeing what they've done with it.
