The above is my boyfriend's opinion of Gibbs in NCIS, and since he's a massive Dragnet fan I'm bettin' that's a good thing.
Also--Man From U.N.C.L.E. kicks ass. I just watched "The Project Strigas Affair" on YouTube, and holy God. Werner Klemperer, William Shatner, and Leonard Nimoy all in the same episode! I squealed like a dorky little girl. Add into that the awesome team of David McCallum and Robert Vaughn...Dahlin', I do believe I'm gettin' the vapors.
I think I may have been born a few decades late, because I really dig '60s TV. Hogan's Heroes, the original Star Trek, Man From U.N.C.L.E., Dragnet, the Twilight Zone... Thank God for DVDs.
FYI: The only other things I've seen Robert Vaughn in (A-Team and Escape to Witch Mountain), had him playing someone evil--or at least ambiguous. it's kind of weird seeing him young and good.
In slightly more relevant news, I am applying to Clarion U for the library science program. At least I'm sure I can get in there--not because I don't think they'll be picky, but because unlike the field of religion, I have some experience there. It'll be kind of weird if I do get in there, though, because one of my favorite high school teachers got her MSLS from Clarion.
