strangled and bedamned

So yeah.  IBM?  It sucks.  Completely.  If it sucked any harder they'd put a hose on it and call it a Hoover.

My lovely computer (may it rot in hell) decided to crap out on me.  It was a slow process, a prolonged disintegration if you will, beginning during last school year and reaching intolerability just before the warranty ran out (which is today).   The screen was doing this weird flicker thing, then finally shut down entirely.  Bummer, right?  And this was after the IBM support people had me restore it to factory settings for another problem I don't recall at this time.  So I sent it in because the warranty was still good, and got it back yesterday.

Seriously, it worked for all of 15 minutes.  Then it did the same thing all over--flicker flicker flicker poof.  Gone.  To quote the esteemed Blackadder and let loose a short, violent exclaimation:  "Damn!"  Followed, of course, by "IBM, you're mincemeat!"

I wish.  We're sending it back--I didn't discover the problem until I was leaving for work, so Justin called for me, and they're sending a box to my house.  But school has begun, and I really need a computer that's in working order.  I'm about ready to honor the ancient rural tradition of taking broken things (pets, cars, children, neighbors, etc.) out back to the cornfield and shootin' it.  May not do any good, but it would sure make me feel better.

Everything technological that I touch seems to go rather painfully wrong.  I'm like the anti-technology, rather than antimatter.

computer, real life
