Christine and I are going to be seeing this movie today, in between some much needed errands. This will conclude the last day of our 4 day weekend. It was a much needed mini-vacation for the both of us, though only I can account for the stress levels I has been experiencing at work.
I'm sure this past week hadn't been any help at all; it seemed that every other call that came in was either someone already pissed off and usually about something my company had no control over or had no hand in, or someone completely clueless in this vast world of insurance and pre-tax, IRS regulated accounts.
My mind is truly boggled as to how people willingly sign up for benefits that they haven't the first clue about. The most they understand is the money will be withdrawn for their use and it will lower their tax bracket. However, they fail to educate themselves on the guidelines for which this money can be used within. People also seem to refuse to learn anything about their medical and dental insurance coverage, and then refuse to even try to understand when someone is holding their hand through the process as it is explained. My largest pet peeve is "What is a deductible?"
But I don't feel like ranting about that at all right now and I feel I do this too often outside of type that I'm sick of myself.
This weekend was a good one, though we had to go to Christine's parents' house to help take care of their cats. I can't stand going back there, for how far degraded it's become. We both left feeling as though we needed to severely scrub our hands clean, which was done as soon as we got home. Another bust was the Chinese food we had ordered for lunch. For some reason, this particular establishment insists on including largely chopped white onions in everything when other restaurants never feel the need for it in their similar recipes. As it stands, there is uneaten egg foo young in the fridge that I will have to dissect in order to enjoy it. It will be a task for another day, surely.
We had new neighbors moving in down the hall from us. While they haven't been annoying as of yet, we're not sure just how many will be moving in. I have a feeling that it's a young couple with one baby, but we can't confirm as the past two days people have actually been seen there it has been a car clown of an experience, at least 10 people emerging from the apartment at a time. We haven't actually seen anyone going in, but it will come with time I'm sure. Save for the people to our left with awful grandchildren, I'm happy so far with the arrangement. The people directly to right are a lovely couple; very polite, very quiet. The most we hear of them is going in and out their door, which I'm sure they hear from us, and every other month or so we hear their baby crying in the morning, but that's only because his room is directly next to ours.
Our downstairs neighbor is somewhat of an annoyance and an amusement. Every night between 7 and 8 he plays one 80's song at full blast, the whole way through. That's it. This is the part that we enjoy, because so far it has been a different song every night. However, he also likes to slam doors and bang around, which in turn rattles and vibrates our floor and walls. After Christine banged back the other day, we haven't really heard anything since, so maybe he's gotten the message. We can only hope for this.
So back to the movie. I'm excited to see this, and I hope it lives up to my excitement. October is the best time for movies, because all of the scary ones come out. The past few years have been a bust so I know I shouldn't have my expectations up for this. I was wanting to see Devil, but it's rated PG-13. Why this would be the decision is beyond me, because you can't have a good horror flick when everything is going to be watered down to appease the mothers of the nation. However, expecting anything good from M. Night anymore is futile.
Meh, I think that's it for now.
