[There seems to be a piece of paper stuck into the journals: it appears to be an (old) geometry worksheet that was assigned approximately... a month ago. Only one of the problems is visible to the viewer, as only a corner of the paper was jammed into the journal, presumably to keep his place.

The little two means it's squared. That's when you multiply a number by itself. [There's a pause before he writes the next part:] ... right?

42 = 16
32 = 9

16 + 9 = 25
x2 = 25

Oh, I see. That one's pretty easy, because 5 × 5 = 25.
