*hugs you* Not a worry! Thinking back, I guess that unless you were reading along on BethInExile when I did the actual Big Move, you didn't have much of a chance to learn that bit.
I was born in Richland, Washington, but grew up in Los Alamos, from the age of 8 to 18, when I ran away back to the PNW for college and basically never came back. My father was a nuclear physicist, so there weren't actually a lot of likely places for us to live, and those were two of them. (I almost grew up in Livermore, CA.)
I really did not like Lost Almost when I was growing up there, but I love visiting it now -- I'm able to see how beautiful it is, even post-forest-fire. I no longer have any family there -- one sister lives in Albuquerque with her husband, but we're not close -- and I never really had any friends. (It was that kind of childhood.) My friends were the canyons and the mountains and the trees and sky. Most of the trees are gone, but the rest are still there and still lovely.
Missy and I got to the Science Museum when we were there, and I was quite entranced to see how much it's changed, also, mostly for the better. I rather miss some of the old old early computers they used to have on display, though!
Please disregard the grump -- I am really delighted that you got there! And you skiied, also. I never tried skiing in all the years there, but I was told, growing up, that we had some of the very best and least well-known skiing in the country. They tended not to advertise it!
