Badger gets bored, but she has no idea what it means to be bored. She knows that she is something, but can't put her finger on it; thus, sitting in the carpool line gives her an opportunity to enumerate the things possibly responsible for her dissatisfaction.
"I'm sore. I'm hot. I'm cold? I'm...hungry. I'm, um, thirsty. Do I need new diaper? I NO LIKE IT."
What she means, of course, is that she is bored. She's sitting there facing backward in an unmoving car, and she doesn't have the skills to read. She's already removed and thrown her shoes forty seconds into the trip. There are only so many times I will contort myself to reach back to take the chewy (pacifier) that she has "bwoke" (turned inside out). What else is there to do but speculate on all the things that could possibly be annoying at any given time?
I no like being bored either.
