Parts of this chapter stumped me, which is why it took so long, relatively. Here's one bit I wanted to put in, that got cropped a little, and then the POV I was planning on writing from changed:
“Follow me, do what I say when I say it.” The Colonel . “And don’t shoot unless it’s that thing.”
Dean didn’t even dignify that with a response.
O’Neill seemed to be waiting for him to say something; the hunter stared over the Colonel’s shoulder instead, carefully avoiding the searing blue gaze fixed on him. The scientist - Major Carter - was pissed at him, and she didn’t care who knew it.
And another from that same section, a little later:
Dean jerked to a stop as O’Neill’s closed fist came up again. Military signals were the only way they could communicate through the noise shaking the base’s foundations. That alarm was way too damn loud. How did these people even think when it was going off?
“We’ll need to panic it, make it run so we can corner it,” his brother explained.
The Colonel gave an insufferable grin, hands folded over his stomach. “We can do that.”
It would throw the skinwalker off-stride - but it also made little things like, say, talking, impossible.
Not that I want to talk to these people at all.
It might have been nice, though, to see what the scientist had to say about the Stargate. But she looked ready and willing to take his head off, after the aborted exorcism.
And as for Colonel O’Neill . . .
No.
And that is the end of the outtakes for this fic! :)
