Well the 40th birthday came and went without a plague of frogs or any other sign of the apocalypse:-) Unfortunately I had some tests scheduled for the following day which required me to abstain from chocolate. Yes that's right - no chocolate on my 40th birthday. Talk about cruel! I made up for it after the tests were over though with one of the wicked New Zealand Natural chocolate thickshakes - the one make with *6* scoops of chocolate ice cream and chocolate syrup... Yum!
The second round of chemo went better than the first - the insomnia wasn't as bad and there were generally fewer side effects. The numbness in the fingers has gotten a bit worse though. Still, to look on the bright side, it gives me an excuse for my natural clumsiness:-) The third round starts next week so I'm taking advantage of a few days of normality.
I've been on a bit of a DVD pre-order spree - apart from the obvious like Cure of the Were Rabbit and the latest Harry Potter, I noticed there are lots of 60's series coming out. How could I resist Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea? I loved Richard Basehart's voice, but had a serious cruch on Captain Crane:-) They're finally releasing Macguyver in Australia too... And I've been working my way through all of the Thunderbirds episodes... Very much a nostalgia kick!
