Bittersweet

I'm doing the final unpacking in the kitchen/dining room area today. My cookbooks are settled in on the baker's rack and a couple of pictures are hung on the wall. It looks very cozy and is feeling more like home.

However, as I unpack, I can tell that this was unexpected. We weren't really planning on moving and I long for some of the things we had planned to do there that we can't here. I'm throwing out menus for places we meant to go to more often. We bought Skig a sprinkler toy just before we left that ended up packed to come with us. We have no hose here to put it on, but he is in love with the idea of it.

We keep going, though. I miss my folks and think about them often. I wish we could visit his folks more often, too. There are so many opportunities here, though. Our church is awesome and Skig has a very nice preschool to attend. I have a bunch of places I can apply to if I decide to work. We're able to pay down our debt very quickly compared to the pace we were at before. We'll actually be able to buy Christmas gifts without agonizing over the costs. (Skig wants a DS, but we'll see about that. ;) )

I'm also using a new organizer that I really like, but I'm still working my way around it. I need sublists, yes I do! Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out so they can unpack boxes be productive too. :)
