(Happy?) Veteran's Day
I wonder if my brother took today off. Knowing him, he probably didn't and worked all through it.
Then again, he IS a daddy now, so maybe he took advantage of it and spent time with his boy. I'm hoping that at either Thanksgiving or Christmas there'll be an announcement concerning another baby on the way...
Also, not entirely sure about this, but I think I've decided on the kids' Christmas presents. Since I'm so terribly, horridly broke (we're talking, I can barely eat broke...I steal food from home broke), I've been trying to cook up something cheap but also something with which the kids will not be disappointed.
SO. Tentatively...getting them all zip-up hoodie sweatshirts and dress them up as weird cutesy cartoon characters.
Raidy, 3 - Toad? With a mushroom hood. XD
Zin, 7 - Bijou? (from Hamtaro) With bow and round ears.
Ro, 11 - Pikachu? With the pika-ears.
Depending on the character, I may put huge, googly eyes on the hood. XD In my head, they're kinda wacky and stupid-looking, but the kids will totally think they're funny.

Oh...I just thought of one. My nephew's now into Bleach and he thinks that guy in the teddy body is funny. Maybe instead of Pikachu...
