A wonderful message from my p-chem professor:
"p-chem tadpoles,
Tomorrow I'm going to ask you whether you want the exam at 6:30 pm or at 7 pm. It is up to you completely [I am guaranteed to be the last person there] but I can't handle any half-and-half nonsense, so its one or the other. I don't really care to discuss it in class, so you guys talk amongst yourselves beforehand.
Pro's as I understand them:
7pm
Allows time to eat after a 6pm class/lab
Allows time to relax after a 6pm class/lab
It is a whole number
6:30pm
It is earlier
Can get out earlier
Can get thrown into jail earlier for Mardi Gras
I don't expect this exam to be super long (there are, sniff, no backwards-six convolutions to be had) but you all have equal control of that. I don't care one way or the other -- as you know, I'm a giver. (In fact, if any of you had a hole in your pants, I would tell you).
I am putting Shahin in charge to conduct the vote at 12:45pm and then tell me the answer.
