Still alive, and what's more, still dry.
I was studying at Borders earlier today, and it was very nice and sunny. And then all of a sudden it wasn't; the sky turned black (and greenish) rather quickly. As a former long-time resident of Tornado Alley (I lived in Kansas for five years), I know very, very well what a greenish black sky means - it's a sure sign of hail. And where there's hail, there's generally a good chance that a tornado will pop up sooner or later. So I hightailed it out of the bookstore and headed home, because I didn't want to get stranded, and I definitely didn't want to end up making the drive while the storm was in full force.
As it turns out, for once in my life, I actually managed to make a good decision. Within ten minutes of my reaching home, the sky was even more ominously dark, and the rain had started. There was hail - luckily none where I live, but back where I was studying. And there was tornadoish stuff going on, too, out in Arlington. But I am home, safe and dry and full of pizza, so all is well here. Besides the fact that I forgot to record AI, and so missed the first half of the show. Whoops.
