today i went to the rock for roe reception at macalester college. it was really cool- lots of interesting people and good speakers. i would have liked to go to the concert tonight, but unfortunately i have to study all night. anyway, it was encouraging to hear from the head of the OB/GYN residency at the U that things are 180degrees different now than 5 years ago, as far as abortion training goes. now it's required and there are lots of electives, plus the people in charge have changed so it's much more pro-choice. it makes me consider going into OB. I have lots of time to decide, but I feel like I should know now so I can decide what shadowing and research to do. My guesses are I will do: OB, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine. I don't like that the OB residency at the U is 100% female. I wish there was more diversity. Enough talk of medical school...
