I don't think Kiefer hates women, I think the writers don't want Kiefer to play a reasonably happy person because they would rather see him sad. Kiefer DOES have the range to play someone happy with his shit together, but I doubt we will ever see this person

Well, as much as my insane love for Kiefer would like to allow me to give him a pass, I do know that he has clout, particularly with this show. Had he thrown down and said, "You guys, this is a fucking stupid idea. Figure out another way to write the character out," I am 99% sure the writers would have done so. He signed off on Renee's death in a heartbeat (bwah, poor choice of words). So I am only saying that it's not only the writers who enjoy making his characters suffer by way of making women useless plot points. He clearly enjoys it, too

Both! I am challenging myself to shoot things with difficult lighting for practice. After Easter I have a "Real" shoot with J and her 8 month old daughter. That should be fun.
Sticking Renee in surgery would have been a way to deal with Annie's pregnancy as well. *Beats dead horse*

Aw, eights months is like THE CUTEST age. Not blobs anymore but also not ambulatory. Well, at least not bipedally, LOL.
I think the extra weight works for the Martin character. Kiefer was pretty damn thin by S7 and S8 especially (something in the water -- so was Annie in S8), but when you check him out in like S2, he has some more weight going.
I notice these things too, K is by no means fat, just more filled out. Suited to his character maybe.
I Also noticed how smiley and adorable he is when he's smiley. And with Lucy it's "Now that we've smooched, you need to leave and disappear in your VERY DISTINCTIVE CAR. Bye."
If Jake and Amelia have such foresight, wouldn't they forsee and prevent this from happening, especially how Jake liked Lucy? Oh stupid show.
YES to what you said about Jake and Amelia. I mean, with all their brain superpowerz, they couldn't come up with a plan that didn't involve this outcome? What's more, why was Amelia surprised then? Shouldn't she have been devastated to have her mother find her, and trying NOT to get them to come to her? I swear that if you actually think about this show at all, it makes even less sense.
ETA: I set up to shoot macaroons, and I've done that. But my favorite shot this afternoon is of some garlic and ginger I had lying around. Food Porn is no end of amusing. I have been inspired by a food photog magazine I found through food_porn. You can download the PDFs for $5 each. Money very well spent IMO, especially if I put it on my iPod for reference.
I am largely immune to almost all food porn, save that of the super delicious dessert I like or any sort of Mexican dish variety. But it certainly does look PRETTY the way all you guys who photograph it for magazines do it. M gets Sunset, and the food in there always looks as if it's about to leap off the page into your mouth, and mostly you wish it would.
