Sorry to get on my soapbox and diss such a fine, upstanding class of people and all, but their "lifestyle choices" are flat out WRONG!!! And while I do get that some of them seem to just plain be born that way, they do a little too much recruiting in the name of "tolerance." Tolerance my ass. They've got no tolerance or patience for our lifestyle, but we're supposed to drop everything and embrace them with open arms and cheeks. Bullshit.
And from what I've heard, any guy who's exceptionally good looking, with a body in top shape like Jerry Butler's (at leastt in his heyday), the gays set them in their sights and pressure the hell out of them to come over to the dark side. Which is why so many of the really gorgeous actors seem to suddenly drop dead of AIDS. And why so many of the leading men are kinda dumpy looking. They're throwing us the scraps, that's why. Ewwww, he's got a fat butt, let's give him to the breeders and make them drool over him. Don't believe me? Look at guys like Jim Carrey, Will Farrell, and all the other homely dudes who keep ending up with all the straight, leading man roles. Either they're playing the game well despite their mediocre looks, or we're being fed the scraps. And the ones who really play the game well, and have the best looks, tend to end up with the great parts as villains and assorted psychos. They also end up the biggest draw in most of the top movies, with the top billing even if they're not the actual lead.
I've known a few people who have gotten into the tech end in Hollywood, who have gotten where they are on talent, without having to sleep their way to the top, but it's because tech skills are in great demand nowadays, to make up for so much lack of acting skills. To actually get on screen, though, I've heard that it usually means throwing any principles you've got into the street and playing the game to the sleazeballs' liking.
And if you think I'm just on my soapbox because I've got it in for gays, you're wrong. I'm just getting tired of them ramming their agenda down our throats but having no tolerance for ours. And if you've got any doubts about the whole industry being taken over by gays, including the acadamy, take a good look at Brokeback Mountain, and tell me it would have won squat if straights had been in charge.
