underage drinking, world cup, cousins, and keane

I'll start by saying that I'm listening to the new Keane album (Under the Iron Sea). AMAZING. Definitely one of the best albums I've heard in awhile. Although I love the new Goo Goo Dolls album as well. Anyway, I've been looking forward to getting this ever since I heard their newest single "Is it any wonder?" on the radio. I love Keane. I especially love that they've grown from their debut. That was a great record as well, yet they aren't trying to just remake it. They've gone even farther with this one, and it definitely shows. So that's today's album review...

Thanks to my cousin Anna's wedding, this past weekend was spent with family, most of whom I only see about once a year. This definitely had to be one of my favorite times spent with the cousins. Could it be because alcohol was involved? Perhaps. I've been thinking about it, and it seems to me that alcohol gets its bad rep thanks to stupid people. When responsible people drink it, you usually only end up with a good time. In other words, I had an absolute blast with my cousins. Phil, who married my cousin Aimee a year and a half ago, turned into this loud and hilarious guy that I didn't know existed. Cousin Andrew, who I've been talking to on facebook lately, was your typical college football player on the one hand, and yet a complete sweetheart who wanted to dance with all his family members on the other. It did get a little interesting when he started asking all the underage cousins what drinks they wanted him to get them (even though he's only 20 himself)! I guess there's nothing like an open bar (and a keg) to bring a family together. I wish I could've spent more time with them because most of them have already left. :-(

On a completely different note, I've been watching a lot of the World Cup. It makes me really wish that the States got more into soccer. It's so much fun to watch, at least I think so! I hope the US wins and Czech Republic loses so we can advance to the next round. But even if we don't, I'll keep watching the tournament. I'll have to pick someone to root for... maybe England? Beckham sure is a hottie. Haha.

Oh, and Shakespeare in the Park the other night was a lot of fun. There was this juggling guy before the show who was very entertaining and funny. He kind of reminded us of Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. Not as cute, though. I can't wait for that movie to come out! July 7th! I'm gonna see the midnight show if I'm not working.

Change of subject: I'm gonna be in Wisconsin this weekend for Lindsey's orientation. Unfortunately, we're really only going to be there for one day and probably busy for the whole time so I won't get to see anyone who lives up there: namely Noonay! Unless you're really really bored and want to drive up to Mequon (about 15 minutes from Milwaukee, supposedly). So yeah, that's about all I have to say. Mike and Paul (who will from this time forward be known as "my boys") are having a game night on Thursday so hopefully that'll be fun. I'm a little confused right now as to how I feel about one of them... but that's something to write about another day.
