with 2 seconds left to spare

I drafted online again last night. I ended up winning the draft, only a 4-3-2-2 though. I tend to select the draft that's closest to finishing, so I don't wait around for them to start. starting quickly is more important to me that hte possibility of winning 8 packs, especially since I rarely do that.

so the draft last night I ended up drafting straight naya. the only mana fixing I had was Druid of the Anima. Straight basics otherwise. I had Realm Razor and obelisk of Alara for "bombs". They were each almost solely responsible for winning a game, otherwise the rest of the deck was just tight and fast. double sigil paladin, court archers, aven squire, manaforce mace, double ember weaver, wild nacatl, Oblivian ring, resounding silence. No Burn, no pump (other than the obelisk and Exalted). It was all about putting guys on the ground and turning them sideways.

I won Match 1, 2 games straight. First guy was playing 43 cards, 5 color. Rolled him right quick.

Match 2 was 2 straight also. He was 4 color at least, and featured such gooders as dawnray archer and outrider of jhess. He multiple blocked a couple times against my exalted pumped rakeclaw when I could first strike it. Not sure why. I definitely mis clicked at some point during game 2. He had stoic angel up and I screwed up the upkeep on my wild leotau so he went away and I mana burned. I got it anyway, and thanks to multiple blocking did it a couple turns faster.

Both first opponants were nice guys and we had some good backa nd forth while the games were going on... then on to game 3, where teh guy was a total douche.

Opening hand I keep plains, mountain, aven squire, ember weaver, sigil paladin, Oblivian ring... and maybe Leotau? I hit a land turn 3 to be able to ramp out the ember weaver. He Tidesculler's me to get my ring and then proceeds to bitch the nect couple turns how I had kept a shit hand and just got lucky, saying that was proof that I was an awful player. Sure it wasn't perfect but it certainly wasn't worth throwing back for a chance at getting something worse. just needed 1 land of any variety by turn 3 to do doing OK... thanks to the aven. details of games are a little hazy, the games sorta meld into each other. but I know I spent the next buncha minutes just blowing plays. I block the tidesculler with just my sigil paladin expecting to blow out the master of etherium to bring it to 2/2 and get it with first strike forgetting he had a metalurgeoan up and could regenerate the master. I should have combo blocked no matter what. I made a block later on a windswept drake expecting to take it down forgetting it's an artifact too :( So I told him at that point I was a bad player for getting blown out by metalurgeon twice, not because of keeping that opening hand. he said I was awful for both. I think that was all

He continues to berate me the rest of the match. I mostly ignore him. Aa couple times I def got distracted though, letting him get to me and misclicking stuff. Like... just mechanical things with the interface, missing attack steps etc.

game 1 was ultimately won by realm razor cutting off his mana and me having leotau in play long enough for drumhunter to draw me like 6 extra cards before he's O-ringed. He wins game 2 mostly on the back of pro green bear. he had 2 at least, he pulled 1 game 1, 2 each of the other 2 games, I brought in skeletonize G2 just for him along with the dispellers capsule. I took out gift and.... forget which else just now. I think a green critter.

Game 3 was tight. he was spending the game a little quieter, time was getting short and I got Obelisk of Alara up. I screwed up playing a couple times and def missed at least 4 points of damage I could have powered up an unblocked attacker, but I had gotten in a rush and was clicking too fast. Then I notice I'm down to like a minute and a half left on my clock, he's at like 4 minutes... I start rushing harder. He's got 2 flyers up... darklit gargoyle and windswept drake. he's pounding me for 6 a turn, I switch from pumping guys and doing direct damage with the stick to gaining life so he's swinging for 6 every turn and getting 1 through effectively. he O-rings my stone. I comment "nice rip". then I rip my o-ring. and ring HIS ring. obelisk comes back and I start getting in there so fast I somehow miss an entire attack step. I'm down to 30 seconds on my clock. he's started pumping his gargoyle every turn to make me have to click OK 1 more time... and activating his drake's vigilance. 15 seconds. his turn I'm at 5 or soemthing, he's at 6. I need to stick him twice. I screw up and miss a whole turn again. 10 seconds... His ends stop... 7 seconds left. I stick him in the head. in response he gargoyles, drake died last turn to attack then he removed my last attacker. so it's the stick or no. my turn activate stick for 3 to the head, lethal. he gargoyles, he gargoyles again making me pass prioirity twice. his gargoyle dies from it but with 2 seconds left on the clock, the 3 goes through.

I am teh win. thanks mostly in part to a deck that wouldn't let me lose. I certainyl tried to punt it enough times.

I should mention that I def made some odd choices in picking.
