I am sorry to say that
Knob Cat is no more, but is now Puss Head.
I noticed that Tinkerbell Puss Head had been sleeping a lot more these past couple of days, so her abscess must have been bugging her. Sure enough I went to check it this morning and I guess I accidentally picked off the scab because puss just started oozing out of her head. Blegh. It was a good sized abscess as well, probably half the size of a ping-pong ball. Anyway, after much wiggling, growling, hissing and wiping away puss and blood she looks like a normal cat. Except for the two large gashes on her head and her fur all greasy from hot compresses and ointment on it. She's eating and drinking fine, so that's good. Mum called the vet's office again today, the vet assistant said to just keep an eye on it, wipe it with a warm wet towel and put hydrogen peroxide on it. We're hoping it doesn't warrant another vet visit because right now mum and I are just so broke from the last one we can't afford it. Hopefully we got most of it out. It's just oozing a little and it's more blood than puss. I know you all wanted to know that.
