Distance in LOTS

So, with last week's episode, I got to thinking about how the sense of distance seems to work in Legend of the Seeker.

Full thoughts under cut to avoid spoilers. )

Remember the end of last week's episode Richard and Kahlan (who were in the Midlands at the time) got a note from Zedd asking them cryptically to meet him in D'Hara and Kahlan moaned that they would have quite a distance to travel to reach him..like the woods of Morrow or something. Zedd has apparently been wandering all over the Midlands trying to figure out where to hide the box during their time apart and finally he decided to hide the box "in plain sight" of Rahl in a magical location in D'Hara (which is a whole different territory than the Midlands.)

The People's Palace (where Rahl was located) - is in D'Hara. And that appears to be where Jennsen and her mother lived as well.

Zedd didn't just conveniently stumble upon Richard and Kahlan - they were supposed to meet him there. The whole Kahlan jumping out of the trees thing and "fighting/flirting" with Richard was prefaced w/ them being bored with waiting for Zedd to show up and were trying to entertain themselves...since you know, they can't make like rabbits like they most certainly would prefer to do.

This whole ep had all of our major players in D'Hara for once and not in the Midlands. My assumption is that several weeks passed between the 2 episodes, not just days.

Ok, I apparently missed that detail at the end - I was just so surprised that so much running around could take place in such a small amount of space. Not to mention that Zedd would hide a box so close to Darken Rahl's palace.
