Where's lunch?

Sep 16, 2010 16:07

"Where should we eat lunch?" was the first question we asked when we got back to the car. We were so hungry already, and the restaurant that we listed down was out of the way. We would need to go back where we started if we wanted to eat in that restaurant. So we told our Made to just bring us to wherever he thought was good for first time tourists.

By the way, there are only four names that men in Bali can choose from, well not really choose. Their names depend on which order they're born. If you've read Eat, Pray, Love, you're familiar with this.

The first born is always named as Wayan, the second born Made, the third Nyoman, and fourth Ketut. If there's a fifth, then the name goes back to Wayan.

Anyway, our driver Made, just drove up to the mountain and we were surprised with what we saw.

We had lunch in a restaurant, overlooking one of Bali's volcanoes - Kintamani. It was like eating in Tagaytay, only the Volcano is huge!

And we ate at the veranda, and there were no people in the restaurant. It was so breezy and cool!

And it was as buffet, so we gorged the food like there was no tomorrow.

After our lunch we went straight to Pura Kehen, one of the nicest temples in Bali.

Good thing there weren't much people when we went there, because it's not really near Ubud. It's about an hour drive north of Ubud. But it was worth the visit.

As always, almost every where in Ubud has beautiful carvings.

and of course, my Bali emo shot of the trip. :p

Before heading down to Kuta, we visited one last temple.

There were painters on the "sala".

And more of the Balinese temples that I wanted to bring home. lol.

I applied my Washington monument shot in one of the temples.

There was just so much of them in one area. I love it!
