He's doing awesome.
He's been "almost crawling" for over a month - he gets where he wants to go, just not by crawling. He sat himself up yesterday with some leverage help from a nearby stool. He stays seated in the bath (when I let him) and likes to splash around. Last night he was actually playing with a bath toy - grab it, let it go, splash around to get it to float back and grab it again. Then maybe chew on it.
He has 2 teeth. That second one was a real doozy and finally popped last night.
I'm excited by his phoneme development. He now says "Dada". He has even said "Hello Dad" and "Love Dad"! He has no idea what these things mean, but it makes me feel all happy hearing them anyway. I'm excited for when he starts saying "Mama". On top of that, he has pseudo-phonemes. He blows raspberries to express joy. He imitates "om nom nom" - the sound I make when I pretend to eat him (but he only does that to me!).
He has a regular bedtime and a routine. It's at about 8 or 9, which means I can't go out at night anymore.
He LOVES oatmeal. He'll eat rice cereal. He likes squash, sweet potatoes and most fruit if they're wet enough. He's really easy-going as far as diet goes. He just likes to eat.
On the down side, he picked up some nasty infections, but we're dealing with them. We pulled him out of this daycare and are waiting til a spot opens up somewhere else. In the meantime,
chococynic is looking after him for a bit and then the sitter we had in January will be on summer break and up for work.
He is not doing so well without us these days. He has gotten to be fantastic and a joy with us, but when we're not there he gets upset and doesn't deal well.
He gets visibly anxious sometimes - quick breaths and all that. Not sure what's up there.
