Okay. I haven't updated this thing in WEEKS so it's time to fix that. I should be writing papers now, because I have like 3 that are late, but I've been trying for the past forever and it's just no happening. So now I'm here.
Update of what I've been doing over these weeks:
Hmmmm....about a month ago, I got my ears pierced a 3rd time, almost (but not quite) on a whim.
The next week, I ended up at a tattoo and piercing place and provided moral support for 2 tattoo-ees at once....And no, I didn't get anything done. Someday.... The important part of this part is that this trip officially established an actual tradition: the Friday Excursion. I now have a life, to the extent that going out with friends every Friday afternoon is a life. We even made up rules for the damn thing, one of which now involves hats. It's crazy.
I went home for Thanksgiving and spent a day at Shaker, bothering all my teachers and then some that weren't even my teachers. Fun times. There was DDR and Wendy's too, of course, as is always the case with the Justice League. And for lack of anything else, I am a Green Lantern now, and may apparently also be called Lantern Kayyak (Bats put it on my visitor pass, thereby making it permanent somehow, I think).
I've been getting better and better at DDR. The day draws near when I will actually be able to take on people on their own level....watch out, you guys. This day approaches faster than you think.
Accomplishments in the DDR area: "In the Navy"- A on heavy. Last weekend, when the DDR club was hosting a freeplay in the union, I played almost half the time on heavy, though I didn't always pass....but I didn't make a total fool of myself either. I'm enjoying it muchly.
The ninjutsu club exists again, so I've been spending my Saturday mornings trying not to get the shit kicked out of me. My knowledge so far is very limited, as this is the only martial art I've ever taken....it makes me wish I had done some earlier, as a kid,or in high school at least. We did some sparring a 2 weeks ago, and it was really the first time I've ever done stuff like that...also the first time that I've ever actually had someone throw punches at me....I got a footprint on my stomach!! Everyone else (all 3 of them, one being the teacher) was going really easy on me and I still panicked a lot. *sigh* Last time I learned a lot of dodging and evasion, which makes me feel slightly better already. Also sparring again...and I find it strange that I've taken a lot of hits both times, but never once had bruises the next day....this is rather odd, because I'm sure most of you remember that time in gym class with the climbing of that thing with the beams and the beautiful bruises I got from that experience...and yet I have no bruises to show from a martial arts club. Anyway, I really enjoy learning this kind of stuff, and I hope that it keeps going for a while, cuz it's so damn fun....
Been to the anime club every weekend too, so I get to see fun things, descriptions of which I won't write here merely to prevent this from getting too much longer than it's already going to be. But I got to see Midori no Hibi, and some Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (a.k.a. Kare Kano, or His and Her Circumstances for you bastard that insist on English), and last weekend, Fullmetal Alchemist (in SUB of course, which means now I have another reason never to watch it in dub).
Also: I am the new secretary of the anime club here. This position actually holds no power and few responsibilities (I think all that was in the job description was to get the mail for the president). I only really ran because a certain someone suggested it...she's the new club president now. No one ran against me, so it wasn't really a big deal at all. In related news, I hear that the secretary is often the one who replaces the president. So maybe someday, I'll have responsibilities and a position with actual meaning.
In other news, a someone asked me if I wanted to help them with an artistic endeavor of a kind. I said yes, but this means that now I have to spend a lot of time over break drawing, to ensure that I really do have the ability. I warned this someone that I might discover that I can't draw after all, but promised that if that should be the case, I would search to find someone else who can. I'm hoping that with practice I will find I actually can make pretty pictures, because this sounds like a fun thing, and I'd like to be involved.....yeah. Fingers crossed and all that.
I played a video game called Katamari Damacy for perhaps 20 minutes a few weeks ago and decided that I need this game. For those of you who don't know (and that could be anyone, because it's not that well known, and I hear it can be hard to find) it involves you, as the son of the King of the Cosmos, creating a katamari, which is then made into a star to replace one of the stars in the sky, which have mysteriously all disappeared. A katamari is, in short, a ball of STUFF. You begin with a little ball as a base, and you roll it around, and it picks up items in the environment, As the katamari gets bigger, it can pick up larger items. If your katamari is big enough, you can quite literally pick up ANYTHING, from people to cars to entire buildings. It sounds really weird, and maybe a little retarded too....but I love that game now.
Finals this week: I only have one test, and it's tomorrow (Wednesday). Everything else is take-home finals that I'm having major issues doing, as I am severely lacking in the motivation and focus department. Somehow, the fact that this stuff counts as a FINAL isn't enough to get me to get my ass working on it. Sheesh. It's like I have something wrong with me, or I have reached the true point of Not Giving a Fuck.
After tomorrow's test, I shall be journeying to the aforementioned tattoo and piercing parlor, known as the Shaman's Den, for (hopefully) a body modification of some sort, under the category of piercing. I say "hopefully" because I forgot to call them today and see if I needed to get an appointment. Meh. If you don't know what it is yet, chances are I didn't bring it up. And get your mind out of the gutter, because I'm not gonna pierce THAT. Or THOSE. Jesus Christ. You people are so perverted. Anyway, what's the fun in having a piercing if you can't show it off without being arrested?
Getting a ride home from Siera (Yay!! No bus!!), who for some reason has a doctor's appointment in Latham, even though she lives somewhere NOT in Latham. Siera is the kid your mom always warned you about. I hang out with her because my mom never warned me about anyone other than strangers with candy. She is the co-founder of the Friday Excursion, and for some sick reason she likes to encourage other people to get piercings and tattoos all the time. It is theoretically possible to blame her for Maggie's tattoo, because we were at the place for Siera's tattoo, and Maggie, being indecisive but easily convinced , got a tattoo as well, so I got to run back and forth between their rooms. However, Siera is not responsible for any of my piercings, though she does get credit for helping me come up with this one. Mwahaha.
I'm hoping I can get some kind of employment while home this winter break. College has depleted my funds somewhat, and I still think I need to do some gift purchasing. I would really like NOT to work at Toys R Us, because parents of children can be such assholes at ChristmaHanuKwanzaa time. Unfortunately, the idea of Toys R Us is still rattling around in my head, with all that other stuff, because they pay well, even to holiday-season-only cashiers.....
I'll be home Friday afternoon. Home will be bad, because school has made me an internet whore: I'm addicted to it. Home is bad because there is nothing more than dialup there, and I have bad thoughts attached to AOL. My dad is not interested in getting Roadrunner or anything broadband like that because he doesn't want to pay for the TV cable channels. I am now pushing the idea of DSL. A month or more with only dialup could be quite unhappy for me.
I would add something here about not updating this while at home due to painfully slow internet, but seeing as it's been five weeks since my last update, I think all you avid readers (all zero of you) will survive somehow. I will most likely not, however, be online much at all, so if you really wanna find me, you're gonna have to call my house. No, I still don't have a cell phone. And if you don't know my home number, you're screwed unless you ask, cuz I'm not posting it here.
I can't think of much else to say right now, but I've pobably said enough already for one update. I would say, "Off to do papers" or something, but I think we all know that's not really gonna happen much. I will do some form of work, of not papers, at least in the form of studying for philosophy test tomorrow....
As a sudden update, a certain someone has returned from adventures abroad!!! I can't wait to see her again and interrogate her about her experiences!!!
